Location: Tribeca, New York
Position: Intern
Time Frame: 8-10 weeks, 2 or 3 days a week
Compensation: $500 stipend (and school credit if applicable)
Eligibility: college-age students or alumni

Internship Objectives:

Internship represents an educational and career-building opportunity for people interested in pursuing a professional career in the art and gallery world. The ideal candidate is reliable, motivated, organized; a thoughtful and purposeful communicator; possesses a deep interest in the arts, as well as some knowledge of art history and contemporary art; and possesses a working understanding of Google Drive and the Adobe Suite.

Intern duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Public facing relations, welcoming guests to the gallery

• Research artists and works

• Work directly with artists

• Installation and deinstallation of works

• Updating gallery inventory systems

• Handling paperwork (shipping, invoices, archival material, etc.)

• Preparing biographies and press releases

• Assisting at gallery openings and events

• General organization and maintenance of the space
